Description

Design anything. One look, and it needs to be amazing (though making it utterly over the top couture really will make judging hard, so be wary of that too). You may want to incorporate various textures to show off what you can do with illustration.

The one catch: It must resolve the problems that you are assigned too, listed below.

"Ginchycouture: Seams and also details that highlight correct light/shade distribution. Don't go over-the-top couture but still have it stand out."

Fabrics: Chiffon, Cashmere, silk brocade, beading

Description: I knew that I had to continue to work on illustration, especially with shading. And despite the outcome of this challenge, I am really proud of the progress I have made in those areas. Also, I used colors that were still me, but a bit more unexpected and outside of my usual purples and greys and pinks.

The cashmere cardigan is yellow with grey lining. The sleeves are gathered because of the ribbing at the end. I made sure to draw the seams. The way that the cardigan buttons is very my style, creating a nice deep v shape that is great for layering.

Underneath is a red, silk brocade shirt with beading, giving it a nice vintage feel. The cut across the top is reminiscent also of vintage silhouettes.

Layered chiffon miniskirt with gathering at waist. I illustrated the miniskirt to show movement. I really liked the mix of vintage feeling clothes with the short silhouette, making it feel young, hip, and my style. Totally ginchy.

I toped it off with a little bracelet and strappy sandals. I also played around with the background to make it more proffessional. This is, for me, my best attempt at shading so far :)

As I said, I really hope I get through. I worked so hard and made so much progress. If I can't move on (there are so many talented people in the competition), I'm still very proud of myself and my work. Thank you very much.

EDIT: Thanks to some suggestions, I made slight changes. I continued to work with shading, adding greys to show areas of lesser light and also used other colors to show lighting even better. Also, I worked with the body/makeup to make sure the figure was in tip top shape.
