"All of this talk about details and innovation certainly lent to difficult technical illustration.
You have had four challenges to step up your illustration. This should be the culmination of your drawing abilities. After this challenge, the group will be eliminated down to 7-8 designers and LBM will be taking a distinct turn towards conceptual ability as we start to eliminate one-by-one. Not including the final challenge, this probably is the hardest in LBM. Focus and make drafts if you need to.
It is all about drapery.
You are to create two looks (and for consistency's sake, it should bear a unifying theme) that involve some form of drapery.
It can have soft drapery ([link]) or heavier drapery ([link]).
Either way, one dress cannot have the same amount of drapery as the other (i.e., I want one look to be more heavily draped than the other)."
This is the fifth submission and I knew I had to step up my game.
Fabrics: Cotton, jersey, twill, chiffon
Description: My uniting theme was clothes a working woman could wear, creating a day look and a night cocktail look. I also used layering in both pieces.
The day look uses soft drapery. The easy cardigan is cinched with a belt, and has a little bit of draping/flounce at the bottom. Paired with a grey button down shirt (puple fabric flower in pocket) and dress pants.
The night look uses heavier drapery. The "under" dress is pink and tighter to the body. The "over" dress is more flowy and loose, draped and gathered at the bottom.
I illustrated to the best of my ability and tried to up my game, knowing that so many talented people remain in the competition. I really love what I created....Thank you very much for this oppurtunity
(I thought the background was a nice touch, something I haven't tried so far in this competition.)
they are both beautiful and your ideas are great. you used your signature colours and your style. however, this time they look a bit different! you did a more casual look that is simple and very wearable. it has pieces that women would really love wearing everyday. also, despite the simplicity, they do not look plain at all - there are a lot of interesting details that make those pieces unique. i really love what you create too .
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
