I got my lovely tablet for Christmas and I absolutely love it...I've been doing some practice stuff--nothing too big. I really love how this turned out...

Comment please :]

I think long proportions can be hard because sometimes it's just like a pile of fabric, but this, like much of your work feels very intellectually done :D

and you know i'm a sucker for them yellow pumps...and that shtuff all up in her hair. is it a big flower?

btw- nice w/ the tablet. might i ask what kind of tablet and drawing program you use?

kthxbi.
:iconginchycouture:
Thanks...Yeah, I tried to really work with the proportion because I didn't want it to just be this blob of purple whatever. I think this proportion works though. I like the giant shawl/jacket paired with the longer skirt in this instance...

The thing in her hair is a headress of red fabric that is done in an origami way to look like flowers.

Oh yeah! I absolutely love my tablet. It is a Bamboo Fun tablet in a medium size. I scanned in the drawing using Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0, then did the linework and colors in Corel Painter, then sent it through painter again in a classical oil brushstroke. I think it turned out great! :]

Tablets are amazing.

yay! congrats on the tablet!!!! I really really want one too!!! I tried a tablet laptop from a friend and it was so much fun. It was the kind were you can draw directly on the screen. I haven't tried the regular, detached tablet yet. I would imagine it will be quite strange to draw in one place and see the results on the screen - it will require some coordination.

i love what you did with it. Looks awesome! It reminded me of an oil painting right away. :)
:iconginchycouture:
Yeah...See, I have the detached tablet..It is actually easier than you would think. Well, it is easy if you zoom in a lot, because you can then be more careful.

Thanks :] Yeah I love the mixture of the fashion with the oil like quality of it. It is just really like my style and reflects my work, so I might use these brushes/settings a lot. There is another sketch that I want to do....And I think I'm going to do it right now lol. Yay! And I have to post the LBM challenge...
